The pluralistic religious landscapes of Togo, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso offer an interesting perspective on religious coexistence that goes beyond the simple dichotomy between conflict and harmony. The long history of coexistence and competition between Christians and Muslims has shaped religious practices that reflect each other, creating alternative models of coexistence in which intimacy and rivalry are intertwined.
