Leila Almazova, PhD, is a scholar from Kazan, Tatarstan, Russian Federation. She is working at ZMO on her new book - "The Search of a ‘New Orthodoxy': Islamic Education in Post-Soviet Tatarstan”. Her research expertise is in Muslim philosophy, Islamic education, and Islam in the Russian Federation.
In 2010 she received a Fulbright Grant and spent an academic year at the University of Michigan working in collaboration with American scholars. From 2012 till 2016 she worked as an Executive Director at the Resource Center for the Development of Islamic Education and Islamic Studies at the Kazan Federal University, Tatarstan. Her more than 800 pages translation from Old-Tatar into Russian language of "The Philosophy of Islam” by Ziyaedtin Kamali (1873-1942) is expected to be published in 2024.
