Abstract

This chapter explores the relationship between religion and the internet in Burkina Faso, focusing on the role of new information and communication technologies (NICTs) in shaping religious practices and discourses. It examines how religious actors use digital platforms to disseminate teachings, engage followers, and address the challenges of digitisation in a culturally diverse and religiously pluralistic society. By analysing specific case studies, the chapter highlights the transformative impact of NICTs on religious authority, community formation and the negotiation of religious identity in the digital age.
