Ashesh Kumar Dhar

Ashesh Kumar Dhar is a PhD student, Department of History at University of Hyderabad. His research interests lie in Borderlands, sociality and environmental histories. He is pursuing his PhD research on the Reclaiming the Rural: Liminalities and Politics in Eighteenth Century India in the political backdrop of the Anglo-Gorkha borderland relations in Eastern India. Parts of his thesis have been presented as panel papers/individual papers at select seminars/conferences. His current role as Research Assistant with Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient (ZMO), Berlin, includes researching archives for the project ‘Timely Histories’: A Social History of Time in South Asia.
